FAQ
GENERAL
Can I wear my jewellery in water?
It depends… Your piece may be pretty old so you should treat it with the diginty it deserves. But with that being said, as most of the jewellery we sell is solid gold and silver it should be okay to wear in the shower and keep its colour. Do see the descriptions for individual pieces on their listings.
Silver naturally tarnishes black/grey over time so it’s handy to have a silver polishing cloth to brighten your pieces and make them sparkle. You can buy one here, but we recommend supporting your local hardware shop!
Where do you source your jewels?
All over the place. Over the 2.5 years The Phat Cherub has been around we’ve had to build relationships and be adaptable with the changing restrictions of the pandemic. Of course curating this takes a lot of love, passion, time, and hard work which is reflected in our pricing. Please bear this in mind if you feel tempted to ask for a discount.
Do you do gold?
Sometimes. Our priority is affordable silver but sometimes there are gold pieces that are too good to pass up on. If you’re looking for some good second hand gold, we love these accounts and websites:

Do you do personalised bundles?
We love to! Necklace stack bundles, the perfect ear sack, a curated set of rings for every day…This is PERFECT for gifting. Just get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.
Do you do men’s?
We believe jewellery is genderless but if you’re looking for something a bit more masc we have a section of the site dedicated to that here.
Can you find something specific for me?
We can try our best. Drop us a message.

SHIPPING
Do you ship worldwide?
Of course! Any questions just contact us.
How long does shipping take?
We send our parcels either 1st class signed for, or special delivery guaranteed so hopefully a matter of days from the point of posting. Please bear in mind this is a one woman show so sometimes posting may take a little longer than usual.
For worldwide see Royal Mail estimates here.
What does insured shipping mean?
Royal mail will not refund for the loss of any jewellery sent on their signed for service so if you would like to guarantee a refund for loss you must select INSURED shipping. We particularly recommend this for big orders, or any orders with gold pieces. This is £6.85.
What does uninsured shipping mean?
Uninsured shipping is the standard 1st class signed for service by Royal Mail which does not cover for the loss of jewellery. This is usually very reliable but of course from time to time things get lost by the postal service. This option is £2.65. It’s up to you to decide which option is best for you.
PAYMENT
Do you do gift cards?
Yes – just get in touch.
What payment options do you offer?
Paypal, card payment, or direct bank transfer if purchasing through Instagram DM.
SIZING
How do I work out my ring size?
First things first we use UK ring sizes, which is assigned by letter.
The best thing for you to do is to hop to a local jeweller and ask them to measure for you. Make a note in your phone and never lose it. Alternatively you can order one of these nifty things to help you measure, but these aren’t always accurate. If you’re really stuck this tutorial.
Here are two pictures for jewellery we think are super helpful.
